For garnishing chopped coriander leaves and ginger julienne

Instructions
Wash and soak Arhar Dal for 1 hour in the water.
Boil dal in about four cups of water, along with turmeric, salt, Cook till tender and well blended.
Heat oil in fry pan. Add cumin seeds. When they begin to splutter. Then add the ginger and garlic and saute for 10-12 seconds. Add the chopped onion and fry till transparent light brown. Add turmeric powder, red chili crushed and asafetida.
Add the tomatoes. Saute till the tomatoes become softened and oil separates from the spices now add dal and water, salt as you required stir and simmer the dal for 3 to 5 minutes
Garnish with coriander leaves, ginger julienne and green chili chopped.
